    Mandrake 9.1 install

SEQ installs pretty easy in Mandrake 9.1

Libpcap needs to be installed from Redhat 8.0
havent tried installing from an earlier version of Mandrake yet

gdbm I installed from Mandrake 8.2 because it refused to install
    from Redhat :/

Dunno why you installed Libpcap and gdbm from other sources but on my Mandrake 9.1 install I just used the Mandrake disks to install them.

Works flawlessly and your right, probably the simplest install I have done.

I must admit that my favorite is still Gentoo though.

in mandrake, libpcap is called libpcap0 for some stupid reason. i would always try and use the rpm files meant for my distro ;p
