    Problem with .17

Version .16 was doing great when I zoned, it would compile the map and mobs just fine. Once I've upgraded to .17 and installed the patch, now when I zone, it takes upwards of 10min for the map and mobs to show up. Any ideas why? i'm using RH8 and 3.0.5 qt

    Thanks

Could you please include further details, such as the full output of 'showeq -V', 'cat /proc/meminfo', and 'cat /proc/cpuinfo'. Also, what zone is this, are you using a map that comes with the ShowEQ distro, are you using a bunch of filters (such as BlueAdepts collection)? Please be more specific.

This code isn't working any slower on my old PIII-600 MHz box then the previous version. Zone-in's are still typically coming up long before EQ.

FYI i'm using RH8 with the patch and its faster loading zone and spawns than .16 was. SEQ loads zone normally before EQ does.

Lemme see if I even installed the patch correctly. I usually have errors installing patches.

    after cd /showeq
    makefile -f Makefile.dist
    patch -p0 < showeq-4.3.17_to_4.3.17.1.patch
    ./configure
    make
    make install

SHould the patch have been done at another time or was there ok?

    Thanks

See what happens without BA's filter files. They may need to be tweaked to work efficiently with the new global/zone filter stuff, since common stuff should only really be in the global filter now.

Yes, that fixed it. Do you happen to have an example of what to put into the filter files for mobs? Adding each mob that I want to watch isn't each since it only tracks that one mob and not all of that kind.

    Thanks

Things have been really busy and have not had any time to even upgrade to the newest version. Nor have I had a chance to see exactly what has changed.

I will try to look at it in the next couple of days. But it probably wouldnt be until this weekend before I can upgrade.

It might get done a little quicker if someone could PM me and tell me what is causing the problem or what structures have changed for the filters.
Filters for ShowEQ can now be found here. filters-5xx-06-20-05.tar.gz

ShowEQ file section is here. https://sourceforge.net/project/show...roup_id=10131#
