dealing with .conf.dist on each CVS

Just curious if the rest of you leave in place your "old" showeq.conf & filters.conf on each CVS update? Or do you overwrite with the .conf.dist each time and manually edit all over again??

What a pain.. The showeq.conf.dist seems to change with each CVS update and I am confused whether re-configuring it again every time is required.

Any info appreciated, thank you all.

I use a ascii-compare util on my winxp-box to compare and add the changes, i want to have.

btw does anybody know a good graphic compare util for linux ? It would be nice not to ftp all files to the win-box compare and put them back.

    Regards

usually the CHANGES file will have comments regarding new options in the conf file. Sometimes it may list the new options.
