Yep, you would be correct. Port 5555 is only on the Server machine and not on the Client machine (if Client/Server are separate machines).

I'm assuming you are running the 1.x Client/Servers?

Well....I was...now ive dled version 2.0 on both client and server. It seems the server on main box (eq box) is running fine but the client cant find the main box.

Main box is XP, client is 98se. Im using a Lynksys router and while i know a little about networking im pretty much in the dark. Ive double checked to make sure the IP on the client matches the server box. I took a break for a few now reading and trying other things.

I had a problem installing teamspeak server where I would have messed with IP forwarding and I never followed it up. Would this be in the same neighborhood?

Make sure you turn off the FireWall in the properities of the Network card on the XP box. That should resolve the issue.
