    apt-get and Debian

Appologies if the answer to this in in an obvious place, but I can not seem to apt-get install showeq. Qt3 and all available packages related to Qt3 from Debian are installed, as well as libstd++6 (5 does not seem to be available)

My sources.list file has all lines remarked except these:
deb ftp://ftp.real-time.com/linux/real-time sarge custom main non-free contrib
    deb-src ftp://ftp.real-time.com/linux/real-time sarge custom main non-free contrib
This is the error I am getting: (note: have also tried this with a Mepis installation)
    debian:/home/waylander# sudo apt-get install showeq
    Reading package lists... Done
    Building dependency tree... Done
Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.

Since you only requested a single operation it is extremely likely that
the package is simply not installable and a bug report against
    that package should be filed.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
showeq: Depends: libqt3c102-mt (>= 3:3.3.4) but it is not installable
Depends: libstdc++5 (>= 1:3.3.4-1) but it is not installable
    E: Broken packages
    Thanks!

    % sudo apt-get update
    % apt-cache policy showeq

    What does that say?

    Re: apt-get and Debian

You must have deleted the official debian package urls.

    Add:
deb http://mirrors.kernel.org/debian sarge main non-free contrib

    to /etc/apt/sources.list

    % sudo apt-get update
    % sudo apt-get install showeq

    Re: apt-get and Debian

So I am having a similar issue... even more similar to notaguru's post from about a lil over a month ago. Following the tips in both that thread and this one I have gotten nowhere

So here it is, I get the following error when apt-get install showeq

Well Hmmm, Nevermind I guess. I downloaded the source and was able to configure and install. Everything appears to be working!

You have sid and sarge sources.list, pick one.

If you want sarge, look here: http://faq.eqenchanters.org/index.ph...d=6&artlang=en

Just put the sarge entries into your sources.list file:

deb ftp://ftp.real-time.com/linux/real-time sarge custom main non-free contrib
    deb-src ftp://ftp.real-time.com/linux/real-time sarge custom main non-free contrib
