    Poll:Zaphod's list

    The stuff Zaphod mentioned:

+Migration to the SINS logging code
+ Migrate SINS spawn monitor and spawn point list
+ Some keyboard accelerators for the new maps
+ Add a bar with easy access cartography tools to the maps
+ Clean up the EQPlayer code
+ Better support for Qt 3.x
+ Fix the experience handling and the experience window
+ An inventory window (with both player and bank inventory).
+ optimized packet dispatch with configurable opcodes.
+ Add more packet size checks (for variable length and encrypted packets)

    Ongoing:
    + Speed Optimization
    + Size Optimization
    + Bug fixes
    + Recovering from Verants patches.
+ Integrating useful patches people contribute.

    Crazy ideas:
+ Make a system to automagically diagnose opcode swaps. Have the system determine what opcodes are being used for based on packet payload size and content heuristics.
+ Make it so that ShowEQ will run on a Compaq iPAQ running Linux.

How about a quick fix for the '+' '-' to zoom in and out on the map again? I loved that in the previous version.... I find that was quicker that using the mouse...

(And yes, I know others have mentioned this...)

Updating the Experience window would be wonderful.

Right now it isn't showing anything in the Player Stats window.

Experence is one of the main things I would use ShowEQ for. It great for letting me know if I'm in a good or shitty area and how long it will take till that next ding.

Exp would be great.. even if based off the old exp values (i.e. calculated manually and checked agains the 0-330 every time it's updated.

Or possible fighting the same static mob for a while with alt exp maxed at 100% to get some data to average

For those curious as to what I've been up to, check out the Announcements:
    http://seq.sourceforge.net/showthrea...=&threadid=176

Where you'll find the following done (to varying extents):
    • Some keyboard accelerators for the new maps
    • Fix the experience handling and the experience window
    • Add more packet size checks (for encrypted packets)
    • Integrating useful patches people contribute.
    • Bug fixes

I find the poll data very interesting, but I still do the work as the fancy and inspiration strikes me... Although it did help give the Experience Window a bump in my queue (along with some helpful anonymous poster's patch #496581 "Quick fix for Exp-Window" that was a step in the right direction (thanks whoever you are)).

I also watch the forum's for problem reports and requests for more documentation/information, see:
    • Added an explanation of how the filter string is composed to
      filters.conf.dist
    • Fix for map panning bug

When people post problem reports I find it helpful if they are very detailed. In general, please include information as to what your were doing and where and the last few messages from the console window. If it's a crash please try to reproduce it under the debugger and give a stack trace and possibly the values of a few obvious local variables. Just saying something to the effect of "it fall down go boom" doesn't help much.

    Thanks and Enjoy,

Personal thank you donations are now accepted.
